My heart
First let me say that God is supreme, He is awesome, just, kind, magnificent, majestic, magnanimous, faithful, true, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, holy, righteous, lovely, beautiful, a warrior, a defender, a counselor, a healer, a teacher, a friend, etc. and at the same time very humorous. Read on for why I say that He is humorous.
Unfortunately, I don’t have some intriguing revelation with lights, thundering and smoke screens, about how Virtue 31 was started but rather, the birthplace of this ministry came simply from a time of seeking the Lord, praying, journaling and having dreams and visions over a ton of other stuff that appeared to have no relevance and correlation to what is now called Virtue 31 Women’s Ministry.
In January 2016, the Lord spoke to me and gave me the name of this ministry, and He also encouraged me that He would provide everything that is needed and honestly, at this point I don’t even know what all will be needed but by faith, I believe He will reveal the details along the way.
For those of you that know me personally, you can attest that I am not the kind of person that likes to be the center of attention nor the one who gets all the credit and never lift a finger. I am truly a multi-tasking, behind the scenes kind of lady. Don’t get me wrong, I’m human and I like praise and accolades (sometimes) but not at the expense of others being overlooked.
Now, I say the Lord is humorous because He has placed this assignment or burden upon me knowing that I (listen to me) never really wanted to be the one pulling women together, speaking/preaching/teaching/ministering in front of others, and mentoring others through experience from my own journey of life. So for what it’s worth (and it’s invaluable in my eyes) I am endeavoring in this ministry to make the ministry more about glorifying the Lord and less about us getting the glory for ourselves. As women of virtue, our own works (if done unto the Lord) should praise us and we shouldn’t have to say a word. To God Be All Glory, Amen.
If you see me on the streets, at work, or catch me at home, I’m an ordinary kind of lady that doesn’t dress like I walked out of Vogue magazine, I love to bake, cook, garden, sew, tinker with power tools, cozy up on the couch with a good Christian movie, and more importantly, I LOVE JESUS and my life goal is to finish the course set before me, fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of eternal salvation!!!
Your Sister in Christ, Kamilah
