Greetings in Jesus Name!

We are back again to continue our discussion and sorry it took nearly 3 weeks.  Today I’d like to draw your attention to the thought “Christian Responsibilities Concerning Prayer

Our prayers in the beginning of our conversion to Christ might be like a novice but as we walk with the Lord our prayers ought to have more substance.  There ought to be a sense of weightiness and value to our prayer life, in whatever were praying for and whenever were praying.

I’m talking about the kind of prayer life where:

  • We’re praying in God’s will
  • We’re hearing His voice, not just for an answer but to be led into the next phase of prayer, led into a place where He gives us the words to pray. AMEN

Often times we have an agenda when we approach prayer and we have a tendency to first want to get out all that we have to say then we may make the time to listen to what God has to say.

We need the kind of prayer life that is so powerful, so sincere and so heartfelt that it comes up to the heavens like a memorial to God, similar to what we see of our dear brother Cornelius.  (Acts 10)

This week meditate upon these scriptures which demonstrate our responsibilities in prayer:

  • Give yourself in prayer [1 Cor 7:5]
  • Make supplications [Phil 4:6]
  • Make effectual prayers [James 5:16]
  • Make fervent prayers [James 5:16 / Num 11:2 / John 9:31]
  • Pray in the Spirit w/an Understanding [1 Cor 14:15 / Rom 8:26 / Eph 6:18]
  • Pray everywhere [1 Tim 2:1-8]
  • Pray for one another [2 Cor 5:20 / 2 Cor 13:17 / Phil 1:9 / Col 1:9 / 1 Thess 5:23-25
  • Pray in one accord [Acts 1:14]
  • Pray always/continuously [Luke 6:2 / Eph 6:18 / Col 4:2-4 / 1 Thess 5:17 / 1 Tim 2:8]
  • Make prayers of faith [James 5:15]
  • Wage a good warfare in prayer [1 Tim 1:18]

May the Lord bless you in your study, prayer and meditation time this week!!!
